A Zombie for the LOLs
By Jill Christine | June 3, 2009
My horror/humor short story, “Fresh”, is in the new online issue of Blood Blade & Thruster. Because BBT publishes a mix of satirical and traditional horror, sci-fi, and fantasy, I knew it would be a good match for Franklin, a fussy vegan zombie who struggles to make a living as an extra in horror movies. There’s a little zombie-type gore involved, but it’s pretty light and mostly for the LOLs.
Franklin’s near and dear to my heart, so I’m thrilled to see him find a home. I wrote his story way back in early 2007, then shopped him around a little and soon realized he was too funny/satirical for traditional horror mags and too gory for humor publications. I needed a mag that straddled the two genres, and BBT was it.
The front page of the current issue is here; you can read more about BBT here.
(And did I squeal when I realized I have my very own BBT author page? Yeah, just a little.)
