Gone Postal; Be Back Later

By Jill Christine | June 4, 2009

One more story link — my flash fiction piece “Postal” is featured on Flashes in the Dark today. “Postal” is satirical horror in which a little supernatural karma comes calling for an unscrupulous post office employee.

Although this story was loosely inspired by all the time I spend at the post office (some things are unavoidable when you’re running an online retail business), I actually adore most of my local PO employees. They know what they’re doing and they do their best, even when they’re dealing with really awful customers. I’ve heard my share of true postal horror stories from other online sellers, though (and yeah, I’ve experienced a doozy or two or my own), and “Postal” was born from those.

  1. *enormous hugs* I am so very proud of you, Jill! And so happy for you!

I’m sorry for being so quiet lately, and I wish I could follow you on Twitter, but due to a change in circumstances at work, I can’t. I’ve sent you an e-mail explaining.

Keep up the great work. I always believed you could do it!
